Highbourne Cay May 6-7

When you are cruising there are many important decision to be made, beginning with when do we depart one beautiful anchorage and move down the way?  It was decided that we (Improv, Moonstruck and Alaska Gypsea) would pull up anchor at 10:00 AM and head to Highbourne Cay Marina to meet the other PDQs for our first scheduled group dinner. 6.37 NM and one hour later we were tied up and enjoying a beautiful facility.  Traveler II had been out fishing and arrived at the dock shortly after us and of course came back with fish.  The next surprise was Dick walking the docks, pulling a cooler and giving everyone a bag of freshly, filet fish. Diane is really enjoying this kind of fishing in the Bahamas.

JP and Diane  strolled the beach and returned in time to unexpectedly see Kristina and Atle coming in on their dink.  We were planning to meet them on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, but they arrived and anchored outside.

There was a quick hello, followed by a Dark n’ Stormy and it was time for the PDQ Cocktail Party.
Dick and Carol Tushick, our leaders organized with the restaurant to have a buffet for the group and what a dinner – Fish Soup, Variety of Salads, Mahi Mahi, Lobster Tails, Beef Tenderloin, Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce.

The next morning, Diane and Elaine walked the beach before we saw all the PDQ flotilla departing for their next destination. As soon  as the PDQ departed, several 100+ ft yachts moved in and we were completely surrounded and suffocated by the high walls of fiberglass. It was time to catch Summer Star's (Kristina and Atle) dock lines for their arrival.

Another delightful dinner with Kristina and Atle.
