Hawksbill Cay and Warderick Wells May 8 - 9

10:00 AM we pulled up anchor, traveled 5.716 NM in less than 1 hour and dropped anchor in beautiful, calm waters with white sandy beach where we found Improv waiting for us.  It was time for a swim, check the anchor, walk the beach and enjoy the ray that was following us.

We need to swim back to the boat

After lunch it was time to pull up anchor and head south to Warderick Wells, the headquarters of the Exuma Land & Sea Park, 14.08 NM in a little over 2 hours had us secured to a mooring at Emerald Rock. Unfortunately, the North field which  is much more protected was full and we ended up having a rocky night at Emerald Rock.

Salla and Beth flew in just in time  for the beach cocktail party
The next morning our first order of business was to dinghy into Warderick Wells Cay, meet up with other PDQ owners and take a morning stroll to  BOO BOO HILL to sign a piece of wood that was placed for the PDQ Flotilla.

The great thing about these Cays is even if one should take a wrong turn the views are magical.

What was supposed to be a 20 minutes walk, 2 hours later we paid our mooring fee, dropped off the filters from Summer Star, return to Moonstruck, untied from the mooring we were heading south with Improv to Pipe Cay for the night.
